Roadmap to Mars

The operational phases of the Florida Starship Program

Phase 1

Orbital Tests

Uncrewed test flights to prove launch, re-entry, and catch reliability.

Phase 2

Orbital Refueling

Launching “Tankers” to transfer propellant in orbit. Critical for deep space missions.

Phase 3

Artemis HLS

Human Landing System. Returning NASA astronauts to the surface of the Moon.

Phase 4

Red Dragon

Uncrewed and eventually crewed missions to establish a base on Mars.

Manufacturing Center

ROBERTS ROAD
MEGA-SITE

Hidden behind the tree line at KSC, a massive industrial complex is rapidly rising. The Roberts Road facility is becoming the heart of Starship production in Florida.

Moving from artisanal, single-unit construction to true industrial mass production, this site is a hive of activity. The massive “Giga Bay” is designed to stack the Starship spacecraft on top of the Super Heavy booster indoors, safe from the Florida weather.

MECHAZILLA
RISING

Adjacent to the historic pad that launched Apollo 11, the new Starship Orbital Launch Tower stands tall. It is not just a launch mount; it is a recovery device.

Equipped with “Chopstick” arms to stack the ship and catch the booster, it eliminates the weight of landing legs. Seeing this structure from the coast is a reminder of the sheer scale of future operations.

The Expansion

SLC-37: HIGH CADENCE

Recently approved for redevelopment, Space Launch Complex 37 is designated to become a high-volume Starship facility. To support missions like the Artemis moon landings, Starship requires orbital refueling, necessitating rapid, back-to-back launches.

Viewing Geometry: Situated at the northern tip of the Cape, SLC-37 offers a distinct trajectory. Launches from here provide clear, unobstructed views across the water from Titusville’s Indian River Lagoon.
